TEHRAN, Iran — Witness testimonies and photos documenting the violent clashes between Iranian protesters and police have emerged, and they provide a haunting look at the regime’s human rights abuses.
At least thirteen protesters have been confirmed dead following several nights of violence. Iran state media claims the protesters were armed and attacked the police, however, several witnesses to the incidents say this is completely false. An 11-year-old boy and a 20-year-old man were among those killed in Khomeinishahr last week. According to a source, the boy’s mother says he was unarmed.
