The video linked above has surfaced showing a man entering a Muslim mosque in Christ Church, New Zealand and killing an estimated two dozen worshipers with a rifle. The entire incident was livestreamed via GoPro by the perpetrator, whose identity has been confirmed as 28 year old Brenton Tarrant, an Australian resident of New South Wales. Live-streaming your own breaking news story, so the media can’t spin the narrative. Genius. New Zealand police have confirmed they have arrested three men, including the shooter, and one woman connected to the shooting, as reported by Nine News Queensland.
There have been two shooting incidents: one at the Al Noor Mosque next to Hagley Park, and another at the Linwood Mosque in the suburb of Linwood. New Zealand police have described the attack as “very well planned,” recovering multiple Improvised Explosive Devices from the mosques, as well as the vehicle Tarrant was driving.
The shooter posted his plans, along with his personal manifesto, to 8Chan before beginning the massacre.
He uploaded his manifesto, titled “The Great Replacement,” a reference to the Kalergi Plan. In the sarcastically meme-laden manifesto, which first circulated on 8Chan’s /pol/ board, the shooter identifies himself as an “eco-fascist,” and explains his plans to ignite a civil war in the United States through his actions defending white Europeans from “invaders.”
The names of men convicted of killing Muslims are written on the suspect’s weaponry, and a Serbian marching song used during the Bosnian War can be heard playing in the shooter’s car as he drives, followed by the British Grenadiers fife and drum. Tarrant also managed to squeeze in time to jokingly drop a “subscribe to PewDiePie” during his drive to the mosque before starting the attack.
One of the shooter’s Pmags had the words “For Rotherham” written on it, a reference to a child abuse scandal in the UK covered by independent journalist Tommy Robinson, while other wording referenced historical battles between European countries and the Ottoman Empire.
This is a developing story, stay tuned for updates as they become available.
